Hollywood beckons

In 2025, Ronaldo teamed up with British filmmaker Sir Matthew Vaughn, who produced Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, and directed Layer Cake, Stardust, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and Argylle.

They set up their own film studio called UR•Marv and have reportedly completed two action movies, which the pair produced together, with a third in the series set to be completed at a later date.

Expanding his media landscape

Storytelling and production has emerged as an important arsenal in Ronaldo’s business empire.

Back in 2024, before he had aspirations of becoming a movie mogul, Ronaldo launched his official YouTube channel, UR•Cristiano.

Since it began life, Ronaldo has featured in clips with Mr Beast, discussed football with Rio Ferdinand, and given fans a glimpse into his life as the world’s most famous footballer.

The channel has also given his Wag, Georgina Rodriguez an opportunity to showcase her lifestyle with a portal called UR•By Gio, beyond her Netflix show.

In 2025, Ronaldo entered the world of MMA by buying shares in WOW FC, a fast-growing Spanish promotion co-owned by UFC star Ilia Topuria.

The business empire

Ronaldo juggles his playing career with managing an astonishing billion pound brand.

He previously said: “I’ve been preparing for retirement since I was 28. I built several companies and invested in hotels, clinics, and recovery businesses because football doesn’t last forever.”

His corporate focus is split between three worlds; hospitality, health and wellness, and tech and media investments.

His global hotel chainPestana CR7 hotels already boasts luxury sites in Lisbon, Funchal, Madrid, New York, and Marrakech.

And, it’s not stopping there. In 2027, they will open resorts in Paris and Riyadh.

In 2019, Ronaldo joined forces with Paulo Ramos to co-found their hair transplant clinic, Insparya.

They already have business in SpainPortugal, and the Middle East.

Ronaldo has several gyms across Spain and Portugal called CR7 Crunch Fitness, and put his money in premium mineral water brand, URSU9.

In February 2026, Ronaldo evolved his 13-year brand ambassadorship with Herbalife into a direct business partnership by investing £5.6 million for a 10 per cent equity stake in their subsidiary, Pro2col.

An AI-driven operating system, Pro2col syncs user data and wearable metrics to build ultra-personalised nutrition, habit tracking, and wellness routines.

Least we not forget his underwear brand that supplies trunks, boxers, and briefs that continues to add to Ronaldo’s extensive revenue.

Accepting that the end is nigh for his glittering career, Ronaldo told Vogue in August that he is planning for his future with Georgina and their five children.

“This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” he said.

He added: “I have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard.

“Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one. And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I’ve earned — what we’ve earned.

“Because after all it’s been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice.”

Club owner

Ronaldo has always been adamant he won’t go into football management.

But, having seen the success David Beckham’s had with Inter Miami, he has made his first foray into club ownership.

In February, CR7 confirmed that he had bought a 25 per cent stake in Spanish side Almeria.

In a press release, he said: “It has been a long-time ambition of mine to contribute to football beyond the pitch…I look forward to working alongside the leadership team to support the club’s next phase of growth.”

Ronaldo also had Manchester United fans dreaming when he outlined what he would do if he owned the Red Devils.

Speaking at the 2024 Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, he said: “The problem of Manchester United is the same.

“The problem is not always the coach. It’s much more than that. If I will be the owner of the club, I will make things clear and adjust things that are bad there.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, you have been warned.
