Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) strengthened its presence in the Chinese market through participation in Tourism Malaysia’s sales mission to the country, involving four major cities namely Beijing, Zhengzhou, Wuxi and Jinan from 12 to 19 October 2026.
The initiative also saw the launch of Naturally Langkawi’s official presence on the Xiaohongshu or Rednote platform, thus expanding digital promotion efforts to approach Chinese tourists.
Through the popular lifestyle and tourism discovery platform in China, LADA highlights the natural beauty, cultural uniqueness and holiday experiences offered in Langkawi.
The official launch in Beijing was completed jointly by the Deputy Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Samuel Lee Thai Hung; LADA Tourism Manager, Waffa; as well as the President of the Malaysia China Inbound Tourism Association (MICA).
According to LADA Tourism Manager, Waffa, China remains an important market for Langkawi, while the roadshow is an opportunity to strengthen relationships with tourism industry players in the country’s main city.
He said, the effort also aims to introduce the story of Naturally Langkawi more closely to Chinese tourists through a business relationship approach and digital storytelling.
“Through Xiaohongshu, we can share about Langkawi in a way that reflects how today’s tourists find and explore destinations, which is through visual storytelling, authentic recommendations and memorable experiences.
“We want Chinese tourists to see that Langkawi is not just a beautiful island, but a place to get back close to nature, explore new experiences and finally re-experience various meaningful things,” he said.
The Naturally Langkawi campaign carries a theme Feel Again which invites tourists to enjoy the experience on the island through moments full of magic, relationships, luxury and various possibilities.
Langkawi also offers a variety of attractions, including ancient landscapes, UNESCO Global Geopark heritage, beaches, wildlife and local experiences that allow visitors to relax and get close to nature.
As part of its digital promotion efforts in China, LADA will use Xiaohongshu to highlight a selection of experiences that reflect the diversity of Langkawi’s attractions.
Chinese tourists can also follow Naturally Langkawi’s official account on Xiaohongshu or Rednote to get holiday inspiration, selected experience recommendations and share stories from all over the island.
Naturally Langkawi, on the other hand, raises the story of nature that has been formed since 550 million years ago, encompassing 99 islands and the people who make up the culture and heritage of the archipelago.
The wealth of legends, myths, folk tales and the diversity of experiences on offer make Langkawi a destination that is not only rich in natural beauty, but also holds various stories for visitors to explore.
