Harry Kane failed to match Cristiano Ronaldo‘s record for scoring in the most consecutive Champions League games.
Ronaldo’s tally of scoring in 11 games in a row still stands after Kane, who had scored in 10 consecutive Champions League appearances, failed to get on the scoresheet on Tuesday against Atlético Madrid.
Bayern Munich beat Atletico 2-0 with goals from Lennart Karl and Konraid Laimer. The second strike came from a Kane assist.
Kane had scored for the 10th Champions League game in succession, and moved one behind the Madrid and Manchester United legend, on matchday three of the campaign with his penalty against Arsenal.
But fresh off claiming the Ballon d’Or, Kane missed out on matching Ronaldo’s all-time tally despite helping Bayern win.
Ronaldo’s total was set in 2017-18 as Madrid went on to win their third straight Champions League via a memorable victory over Liverpool in the final.
His 11-game run began with a brace against Juventus in the previous year’s Champions League final. He then scored in all six group stage matches and in both legs of Madrid’s round of 16 and quarterfinal ties.

Kane’s 10-in-a-row run began when he scored twice against Union Saint-Gilloise on matchday seven of Bayern’s 2025-26 Champions League campaign. He scored against PSV Eindhoven the following week before watching from the bench as his teammates beat Atalanta 6-1 in Italy in the first leg of their round of 16 meeting.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker picked up where he left off with two goals in the second leg before finding the back of the net in every game as Bayern’s hopes of European glory were ended by Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals.
Kane has scored against They will/Glimt, Viking FC and Arsenal.
