The 2026/27 BKT Series expands and consolidates its television offering, focusing on a multiplatform strategy that will allow the championship to be followed in Italy and abroad. This was communicated directly by Lega Serie B, which illustrated the coverage plan in view of the start of the 95th edition of the cadet tournament.
The championship will start on Friday 21 August at the “Romeo Menti” stadium with Vicenza-Catanzaro, the match chosen as the Open Day of the new season. For the occasion, the Lega Serie B has prepared a special television production with 10 cameras, including “opposite”, two rear cameras, gimbal and drone.
The inaugural match will be broadcast by official licensees DAZN and LaB Channel, the latter available through Amazon Prime Video and OneFootball.
“DAZN and LaB Channel will broadcast all matches”
As communicated by the Lega Serie B, on Italian territory the entire season will be available co-exclusively through DAZN and LaB Channel.
The offer will include all 380 regular season games, as well as playoffs and playouts. LaB Channel will be accessible by subscription both as an additional channel on Amazon Prime Video and through OneFootball TV.
One of the main innovations also concerns the return of an appointment dedicated to Serie B on Rai. From September, every Monday at 7.30pm on Rai Sport, “Bordocampo” will be broadcast, a new weekly program dedicated to the championship with summaries, goals, interviews and insights into the protagonists of the tournament.
“Serie B abroad: coverage in 32 countries”
The Lega Serie B strategy also focuses decisively on the internationalization of the championship. Amazon Prime Video will guarantee direct distribution in Italian in ten European countries, with particular attention also to Italian communities residing abroad.
International coverage will be further expanded through distribution channels coordinated by partner agency IRIS SPORT. The project involves worldwide distribution in 32 foreign countries, with three live matches every weekend, produced in the respective local languages.
Territories reached include the United States, Latin America, the United Kingdom, North America, Israel, the Balkans, Ukraine, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Kenya.
“Serie B, also space for local television”
The project does not neglect the territorial dimension. The Lega Serie B has in fact announced the involvement of 22 local television stations, called to guarantee daily information coverage of the individual realities of the championship.
A special ceremony is also planned for the Open Day in Vicenza in the presence of the president of the Lega Serie B Paolo Bedin. Before Vicenza-Catanzaro a choreography will represent all twenty participating companies, while Serena Menarini will perform the Italian anthem. The players will also be accompanied on the pitch by children wearing the kits of the 20 championship teams.
The 95th edition of Serie B will therefore start with a further strengthened television offer: all the matches on DAZN and LaB Channel, a new weekly magazine on Rai Sport and an international distribution that will bring the tournament to 32 countries.
