La Liga: Espanyol lost again and are in the relegation zone (results)

In the 10th round of the Spanish La Liga, Atlético Madrid players beat La Coruña 1:0 with a goal by Julian Álvarez and secured second place ahead of their city rival from Real Madrid.

Slovak national defender Dávid Hancko played the whole match.

Villarreal’s players also triumphed, winning 2:1 at Valencia CF.

Striker Georges Mikautadze decided their three-point win with a goal in extra time.

Villareal has 12 points after ten games and is in the top half of the table. Valencia did not capitalize on a 1-0 lead from the first half and after another loss, they are in penultimate 19th place with six points.

The players of Racing Santander won over Espanyol Barcelona 2:1. It was their first win after four matches in which they got only one point.

Espanyol lost four of the previous five duels. Racing has 11 points after 10 games played, Espanyol is still in the relegation zone.

Elche CF players triumphed at Rayo Vallecano 3:0. It was their second win of the season, after which they have 10 points. Vallecano has one less.

Spectators saw as many as three penalty kicks in the first half. Thanks to them, the guests took a 2:0 lead. Home midfielder Pathe Ciss could have reduced the score in the 39th minute, but he did not score from the penalty.
